Fire Safty Evacuation Plans

High-rise building safety: resident engagement strategy

We recognise that not all residents will require assistance, and there is no obligation for anyone to disclose personal or medical information. However, if you have a condition, impairment, or circumstance that may affect your ability to evacuate safely from the building in an emergency, we would encourage you to let us know so that we can consider whether any reasonable and proportionate measures can be put in place within the common parts of the building under these legal requirements.

Examples of situations where additional consideration may be helpful include (but are not limited to):

  • Reduced mobility, either permanent or temporary

  • Visual or hearing impairment

  • Cognitive impairment or neurodivergence

  • Any other condition that may affect awareness of, or response to, a fire alarm or emergency situation

If you choose to make us aware, we may invite you to take part in a short, person-centred discussion. This is not an assessment of your home or personal arrangements within your flat.
